Update 9th November 20010

In discussion with Mr Gandolfo, we have decided to continue with the planned shopping evening. UK Power Networks have more or less guaranteed that the power will be restored to the school by 5pm.
This provides us with a planned leeway of around 1 hour between the expected resumption of electricty and the first of the stall holders arriving.
Heather and Clare, who have been organising the event, will attempt to contact the stall holders attending to warn them that there may possibly be a problem but that we have every expectation that the event will take place.
If you were planning on visiting on Thursday evening, please continue to do so and if you are worried that it may not be taking place then please check this page of the website first. I will endeavour to keep this page as current as possible.

Update 8th November 2010

For those who have not yet heard, the Christmas Shopping Evening is under threat. It may have to be cancelled due to the school receiving notification late on Friday afternoon that we may need to temporarily interrupt your electricity supply so that essential maintenance can be carried out.
I have spent most of the day (Monday 8th Nov) chasing UK Power Networks (used to be EDF Energy) to try and get a solution to this problem. Very helpful people at the call centre are being let down by their engineering staff and managers who are not returning the calls and calling back when promised. However, I have been more or less promised that the power will be returned to the school by 5pm, 5.30pm at the absolute latest which means that the event can take place assuming that we can arrange for temporary lighting for stall holders etc. to set up with.
